LEVEL SELECTION |
Level 2 - San Juan
Level 2 was a redemption level of sorts for my team. We felt we had fallen quite literally a bit flat on level 1 and decided to pivot locations entirely to help bring some deeper narrative opportunities, interesting spaces, and culture to the game. I heavily pulled inspiration from Old San Juan when designing a rough map of our critical path and key areas. With that critical path in place I created a walkthrough slideshow of our critical path in Old San Juan via Google Earth to help my team better visualize the pacing and space. I then split the level into zones so myself and the other two designers could utilize world composition with SVN to better collaborate.
Consideration: Elevation
When whiteboxing, I heavily focused and pushed the other LDs to focus on integrating elevation changes within their zones.
